Niclés Bestel provides clinical supervision and secondary consultation to psychologists, social workers and counsellors. She has extensive experience working with adults, adolescents and children with trauma, complex trauma and dissociation.

She is available to provide supervision and secondary consultation in the following areas:

  • Trauma and complex trauma, including EMDR

  • Dissociation and dissociative disorders

  • Internal Family Systems

Trauma and Dissociation

Niclés loves supporting clinicians to build their awareness, knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise, assess and treat symptoms of trauma and dissociation and the dissociative disorders. She is passionate about increasing awareness of symptoms of trauma and dissociation and has completed published research in the dissociation field.

She can support clinicians to more effectively support their clients who experience trauma and dissociation symptoms through interpreting assessment results, ways of working with different parts of the self and creating treatment plans that incorporate aspects of Internal Family Systems, structural dissociation theories, EMDR, dialectical behaviour therapy and other approaches. She can assist clinicians to build the skills to support this client group effectively and with confidence.

Internal Family Systems

Niclés is available to provide Internal Family Systems supervision to clinicians. Internal Family Systems is an evidence-based, non-pathologising and powerfully transformative psychotherapy. It is used to support clients across all ages and life stages and with a variety of presenting issues. IFS is particularly effective in supporting clients who have experienced trauma, neglect and attachment issues and who are experiencing symptoms of trauma and dissociative disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders and addictive behaviours, as well as those navigating life transitions and understanding their own experience more deeply.

Niclés is a Level 2 trained IFS clinician with extensive experience in supporting clinicians to learn and incorporate all aspects of IFS into their clinical work. As IFS is an experiential psychotherapy, she also supports clinicians to identity and work to support their own systems of parts.
